About anti-climb fencing

Anti-climb fencing, also called 358 mesh, high-security mesh or prison mesh, is a welded wire panel with very tightly spaced vertical wires. It is the standard specification when a boundary must stop a determined intruder, not just mark a property line.

NRH Infinity Empire supplies anti-climb panels, posts and fittings across Malaysia and installs them with cast concrete footings. Panels are hot-dip galvanised as standard, with powder coating available for a black or green finish.

Why anti-climb

What makes a 358 fence hard to beat

No grip, no foothold

The 12.5 mm gap between vertical wires is too narrow for fingers or the toe of a boot, so the panel cannot be climbed by hand.

Hard to cut

Wires this close together leave no room to get standard bolt cutters squarely onto a single strand.

Clear view for CCTV

The fine mesh stays see-through, so guards and cameras can watch the boundary. Air still flows through.

Modular panels

2400 mm wide panels fix to square hollow section posts with clamp bars, so long runs go in quickly and neatly.

Choosing a height

How high should an anti-climb fence be?

1800–2100 mm suits commercial boundaries, car parks and compounds where the goal is to stop casual entry.

2400–2700 mm is the usual choice for factory and warehouse perimeters. Add barbed wire on arms for extra deterrence.

3000 mm and above is used for substations, data centres, fuel depots and other restricted sites, usually with a Y-arm and razor wire coil on top.

Why is anti-climb fence more secure than normal mesh?

The 12.5 × 75 mm aperture is too small for fingers or shoes, so the fence cannot be climbed by hand, and the wires are too close together for bolt cutters to bite on one strand. Standard mesh with 50 × 150 mm or larger openings allows both.

Is 358 fence the same as anti-climb fence?

Yes. “358” comes from the imperial mesh size of 3 inches × 0.5 inch with 8-gauge wire. In Malaysia it is sold as anti-climb fence, 358 fence or high-security mesh.

Can anti-climb fence be powder coated?

Yes. Hot-dip galvanised is standard. Powder coating can be added on top, usually in black or green, for sites where appearance matters.

What is the difference between anti-climb, V-Fence and Flat Fence?

All three are welded mesh panels. Anti-climb (358) has a very tight 12.5 × 75 mm mesh for high-security sites. V-Fence and Flat Fence use a larger 150 × 50 or 200 × 75 mm mesh with thicker 5 mm wire, for boundaries that need strength with a more open look.
